What is Synthetic Biology?
A production technology that uses living organisms to act as catalysts.
Synthetic Biology is capable of producing products that are not available in traditional chemistry;
Synthetic Biology is typically more efficient and has a lower cost production technology than traditional chemistry;
Synthetic Biology is much more ecologically sound than traditional chemistry and can often use renewable raw materials that produce renewable products;
Because living organisms are inherently very complex, the opportunities to improve the efficiency of the synthetic biology process are almost endless.
